"Neat as a Pin" disease

I have a friend who suffers from "neat as a pin disease". You know the type. Everything is in order in her sewing room. Everything is done in an organized state. She has one of those cute hanging trash baskets near every work space so that nothing goes on the floor. You know the type.

Does any part of your sewing room look like this?

If it does, I would say you suffer from "neat as a pin" disease too. It's okay...don't panic! There is a cure.

Let go! I say, allow yourself to drop it on the floor. Stop wasting so much of your creative energy getting those threads and cuttings into the trash! Your creative mind is being stifled by your "neat as a pin" disease!

I took a look around my sewing room this morning to link up to WOYWW (what's on your workdesk Wednesday). The only thing I am sure of is that I DO NOT have "neat as a pin" disease.

I have no problem dropping things on the floor as I sew.

I'm pretty sure I have kicked that disease (if I ever had it)!
So, I'm going over to  WOYWW   to share this triumph!
I think I am a pretty creative person....at least in MY mind....and judging by the floor in my room, I have been EXTREMELY creative!

Are you a drop it on the floor type or a hanging basket type?

  1. Well, I certainly could never be described as 'neat as a pin' as much as I would like to, but then I would never find anything! Regards, Anne #150

  3. Definitely, definitely a proud member of the NEAT AS A PIN club. Can't help it. I think we are what we are, aren't we? The lovely thing is that we are all creative, whether neat or messy, whether stampers or sewers. Imagine the folks out there who are not in the least creative, like my hubs. They think we rock -'cause we do! Happy sewing to you!

  6. You know what? I used to have this "neat as a pin" disease...And then I had kids (and a hubby that's quite the opposite too)...Yep, I may still suffer from this disease, but at some point along the way, I had to let go and say, "I give up!!!" If I lived alone, I'm sure this disease would get the better of me. But, for now, my work space is a mess, my house is a mess most of the time, and there is always something that could be cleaner.

  7. I guess I am half-and-half. I put scraps and threads on the tables nearby then my cats scatter them around. When I am done, I have to pick up because I don't have a sewing room. If I did have a room to myself, I might be completely cured. I can only hope!

  8. Oh my... I could never ever be accused of "neat as a pin" disease. I do marvel at those who have it and how they ever have the time to keep everything that way. ;) Warmly, Tracy #81

  9. I love to be neat as a pin. And in order to start a new project everything has to be in order (well perhaps not entirely the floor :)). But then it comes time to embellish, find the right closure for a bracelet, or the beads I chose aren't quite right. Then the frenzy begins! Whoa! But then when I'm done with that project, everything has to go back to their places - so I guess I'm a bit of both.

Thanks for sharing - it was fun to read your blog! And I'm a follower now.

  10. How funny! I try to be organized but it doesn't always happen. I am however obsessed with items such as thread and pins. I make sure that none of those are laying around because they are so dangerous for my cat.

BTW....I would LOVE to have that cabinet in the top picture!

  11. What a great post - I think I'm a bit of both. My desk is always neat and tidy but my bin/floor is always messy! Hey ho it's Friday but I'm still snooping the WOYWW desks & loving every minute of it! Take care Zo xx 33

  12. I don't have this disease either, but you know what, I wish I did..i don't think it would stifle me so much as save me HEAPS of time in the long run! Am very late to visit, so offer best wishes for a day of love and happiness on March 31st, you must be so proud.
