Lost and Found...Serendipity Shopping Day!

As you know, on most weekday mornings, I am in charge of dropping off my grand kids at their respective schools for a day of academia.

They arrive at my home with backpacks and lunch pails and sometimes still in pajamas with their clothes in a bag because it was one of "those" mornings....sigh...I remember "those" mornings!

This morning they arrived as usual, chattering about video games and other important stuff like Aidan's fourth grade field trip to the world famous "Ramona Pageant" outdoor play. ALL of the fourth graders in the area schools (around 3,000 I would guess) are invited to watch the final dress rehearsal and this is Aidan's year. He wanted to be well prepared for what was obviously going to be a pretty hot afternoon...we are suppose to be in the 90's today..yikes!

I dug out one of our CamelBack backpacks for him, he wanted to take plenty of water....I opened it up and there it was! The VERY long lost Nintendo DS he had been missing apparently since the last time he used that backpack....last year's field trip to be exact! The joy on his face was shear delight! This small piece of electronic equipment was found at last! It had not been stolen like his bicycle...nope...here it was, still charged up and ready to play...oh happy day!!

Don't you just love it when lost things become found things?

I love surprises and that was one of the best surprises EVER!

So, I am going shopping to celebrate found things!

I thought I would begin with some of the shops that treasured mine this week.....

I stopped by HandmadebyCJ to admire her art. I like this one...if you like the modern style you should check her other original works of art!

Felting is such an interesting art. There are many, many felt artists on Etsy.  Andrea at HeartFeltbyAndrea is a gal who loves what she does...what a beautiful felted flower this is!

Omg! Can I just say...I love babies...and purple..and here they both are! Aren't babies so sweet when they sleep? I think WeeLambieKnits is such a fun shop to visit!

Did I say I love purple? Yes, I did. I found this pretty necklace at  JewelryByScotti and she has such a wide variety of jewelry in her shop...you just have to take a look, there could be something for Mom in there!

I wandered into doranzi because I saw this cute little vintage bear in the window. I love to look at vintage shops, you find some of the cutest old things in them. Debbi has lots of nice vintage items and some great destash finds too!

Yes! I do love babies...we've already established that. But, can I just say...I love everything about them, even their drooling! Isn't this bib from CwtchBugs so darn cute? And how about that baby wearing it?

Isn't this the cutest trivet...almost a shame to put a pan on it. I found it at SnowNoseCrafts and she has lots of wonderful crafty things in her shop...she even makes angels...I love angels!

FiberThreadYarn is a small shop with some very interesting and fun art pieces. I found this art doll in her collection and I rather like it. It's interesting all the pieces she used to make it. Isn't fiber art just amazing?

Aren't these earrings so sweet? And they are teal...another one of my favorite colors. I found them at dragonflyridge among so many other beautiful pieces of jewelry, it was hard to pick just one to show you!

Well, it's the end of another wonderful week ...I think I will go bask in the glory of found things!!

I hope you had fun shopping with me!

P.S. Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY....
you could win one of these.....

Serendipity Shopping Day

**Sigh*** It's Friday already....I know, I should be excited that the weekend is here but I was looking for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday this morning....I don't know where they went...can't find them anywhere! Not surprising though, have you seen my sewing room? It's a wonder I can find anything in there. I guess I should spend some time straightening up in there this morning.....oh, wait a minute...I said it's FRIDAY...that means it's Serendipity Shopping Day!!! Oh thank goodness, I can get out of that "organizing" stuff and go wonder through some shops that treasured mine this week.

I love surprises! Can't wait to see what I find in them...lets go shopping!!!

Lovelace Designs has a fun shop filled with themed picture frames and room decor. I like this one....my boys were in the band in high school, this would be a nice way to frame a band picture, don't you think?

I don't have any little baby girls but at The Crochet Lady there are some things that make me wish I did! I love baby shoes...so very cute!

If I was a jewelry maker, I might have to consider purchasing some beads from ArcadiaBeads. She has so many beautiful handmade beads...how do you choose?

Nina at Creatingwithni has such an eclectic collection of things in her shop. Supplies, paper crafting items, crochet, shoes....the list is long and you could linger awhile in her shop for sure!
Aren't these polymer clay flowers cute?

Doesn't this cowl look cozy? It's still cold enough outside to think about stylish things to keep you warm. At DivineLuluCreations you might just find the perfect pair of fingerless gloves!

I just had to add this wonderful piece of work to my shopping list today. I have been following Sandy's blog but I have never wondered into her shop, QuiltinCats .

Today I did.

I love, love, love these cute little mug rugs! She makes them while on the road with her husband traveling here and there, how fun is that?

So, that's it for me. I really must get to "organizing" my sewing room, it's a mess and I have projects calling me to be completed. I need to move them up on the procrastination list.
I hope you had fun shopping with me today!

Serendipity Shopping Day

I wasn't going to go shopping today, but I haven't EVEN had a chance to look for Easter things for the grand kids Easter baskets..too late for that I suppose....but Mother's Day is right around the corner.
Slowly and surely I am getting back on track after the wedding. I had fun coming up with a few surprises for the happy couple and you know.....

I love surprises!

I will be sharing those pics soon but for now I want to spread the joy of surprises by shopping in some of the stores that treasured me this week.

Apricot Passion OMG! This shop is beyond cute! She has such fun and whimsical wall art I could shop here for days!   She's a new shop owner and I think she has the stuff to become a popular shop on Etsy, I look forward to watching her success!
I know a Mom who would love this!

Pam at GypsythatIwas makes some really crazy crochet things but she also has added this darn cute vintage plate to her shop, I think it is so very cute! You simply must head over there and see her entire collection of crazy fun things...especially the baby boob hats for the new Mom!

There are many, many...ok...MANY jewelry stores on Etsy. I found these darling black and silver earrings at ForHerEarsOnly....cute name right? Her prices are reasonable and she has FREE SHIPPING when you use her code YEAR2012. Mom can always use another pair of earrings!

I love shopping this way....I have come across some of the most wonderful shops through the treasuries made on Etsy! Abundantearthworks is no exception! She has some beautiful wire wrapped pendants in her shop. This is one of my favorites!

Mom will always accept jewelry as a gift! Did I mention there are many, many....MANY jewelry shops on Etsy. But at this shop, you can get a pendant AND a matching card! Karen at  TheVenusCollection creates beautiful watercolor art and then uses her art to make jewelry and cards. Lots of Mom possibilities here too!

I love this label idea at RetroModChic! I think the organized Mom would love a set of these! Check out the other tags and frames in her shop too!

Don't you just love the blue in these earrings? So sweet! VeritasCrafts made them along with so many other beautiful things to look at for Mom! Another amazing jewelry artist!

Sometimes the art just makes you smile. Kiramic has a style all her own and I find it sweet and very cute! These plates are the perfect thing for Mom's cupcakes....unique and functional too!

And if Mom loves her garden, there is this FELTED, that's right, felted tree character at HeartFeltbyAndrea . Felting is a wonderful fun art and Andrea definitely has fun with it!

Whew! That's a lot of shopping! I need to go put my feet up now and ponder all these choices! I hope you had fun tagging along on my shopping spree!

Serendipity day...love is in the air!

Yay! It's Friday...again...already? Wow, this week flew! It's March 16th...my youngest is getting married on March 31st....ahhhhhh...

I have some things I have to do for the wedding and now I'm suddenly down to the wire. Panic is setting in. Hmmm...yup...gonna be busy the next couple of weeks.

This will be my last post until the nuptials are over. I have to focus...focus...focus! Gosh, I hate focusing! I'm a do a little of this, do a little of that kinda gal. But, it's MY kid and he IS getting married sooooo, I guess I will focus, get my tasks completed and be back when cleaning up after him is his new wife's worry!...cue up the happy dance music...shhhhhhh

I thought I should get some wedding gift ideas before I go. There's always time for shopping, isn't there?
I need to find the perfect gift for my little (giant 6'7") baker son....

Gonna stroll through some shops that treasured my shop this week....

let's see what surprisingly beautiful things we can find!

My little (giant 6'7") son loves a good wine.
At Corkycrafts they make fun things from wine corks like this wreath. How cool would that be on the front door?

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue....isn't this the sweetest hair pin in blue? I found it at WeeLambieVintage she has great vintage items for sale in her Etsy shop.

Dare I say that I may need this vintage crochet book from Amydscrochet ?
Ok, so that would be for me not them....can I just say...

                                              I ♥ babies!

justByou has opened up a whole new line of delicious treats in her shop. These tasty looking morsels are her "Bumpy Road" treats.

I seriously hope they don't have a "bumpy road"  type of life!

Of course no newlywed couples home is complete without romantic candlelight. AMomentinParadise has this beautiful blue hand poured candle she calls "Blue Lagoon". Sounds like a honeymoon destination, doesn't it?

My son's new bride could wear these very cute flip flops on their Blue Lagoon honeymoon, don't you think? I found them at Creatingwithni, she has a wonderfully eclectic shop!

I found another possibility for something old that just happens to be blue too at FancyDodo. Looks like "blue" is the theme this week!

My son may need an idea for a "♥" gift to his new bride. How perfect is this? ....sigh....young ♥...so romantic! Lucinda at ThisArtOfMine has beautiful mixed media art in her shop too!

And now, I really, really, really need to hop to it and get some things done before March 31st! I hope you found some shops to "♥" this week !

Serendipity Shopping Day

It's Friday...well, at least it was when I started writing this post! Then my hubby decided to whisk me away for our anniversary...oh darn!

He is my fishing dork who ties his own flies and is pursuing his BS in Physics at the ripe old age of 50.

He keeps me on my toes, he loves me even when I've spent waaaaay too much time on the computer and he cooks!

Thank you, honey,  for 23 years of fun, frustration, joy and serendipity!

It's been quite a ride!!!

Hubby said I could go shopping for an anniversary gift so I thought I would begin by checking out some of the awesome shops who treasured my shop last week!

Let's go see what surprises we can find in these marvelous shops!

My first stop is Water Colors n More She has these beautiful vintage earrings, I think they are so sweet !

I also wanted to look at The Pretty Do Good Erin makes these super cute sparkly dinosaur necklaces and they come in lots of different colors.

I found this surprise package at Audrey's Buffalo Creek Crafts I wonder what's inside...you know I love surprises!

SunDevonaDesign is a shop that has amazing unique handcrafted jewelry.
I love this Eiffel Tower pendant, it reminds me of my sister. We traveled to Paris together and had so much fun!

I  sew, but never for myself. TheSlightly Sarcastic Seamstress is my kinda gal!
Besides making beautiful aprons...she's slightly sarcastic....now that is a trait I am familiar with, it runs in my family!

Here's a pretty purple (love purple) scarf I found in NekozukiYarns, I think I'll add that to my list too!

I know a lot of people who collect ACEO's after seeing this one at TheVenusCollection, I think I might have to start collection

Hmmmm, I might have to ask for an E reader just so I can carry it around in this super cute tote I spotted at Simplynotesandtotes

Waterrose is owned by Rose and she is a wonderful textile artist. She makes these beautiful fabric cuffs. So pretty and lots to choose from too!

I wandered into Toppytoppy and found so many wonderful crochet and hand knitted items it was hard to pick just one to share with you. She is quite the yarn diva!

I told my hubby I would have to put something from AnitaSperoDesign on my list. I have always been fascinated with art that re-purposes things. I love this framed art piece!

GypsythatIwas is a fun shop too! So many wonderful, crazy fun items in her shop. I love these pink bubble gum earrings, so pretty for spring!

I am amazed at how many knitters and crocheters there are out there. DivineLuluCreations is a new Etsy shop that makes beautiful, warm fingerless gloves, hats and scarves, these are my favorites!

My last stop is another new Etsy shop. CHARMATIONS creates wonderful elegant  jewelry pieces. This piece is definitely on my list!

Wow! That was quite a shopping trip! My feet are tired.....I need a glass of wine and  a snack from the food court. I think I'll hand my list over to my hubby and let him decide what I want for my anniversary!

Thank you so much for shopping with me, I hope you got some nice things for your anniversary, birthday or just because list!
