A toast to happily ever after

No matter how carefully you plan it...something WILL go wrong. You can count on it. The nuptials have come and gone. The heavy morning mist which set back the decorating a couple of hours is a distant memory. The last minute dash to the store for forgotten chaffing dish sterno...oh, crap...where's the cake topper?...the cold wind inviting itself to join us right up until the time the guests were leaving...the sun arriving just in time for the clean up....all things we embraced and overcame with laughter, tears and the simple joy of a wedding put together on a DIY shoestring because the young couple is just that...nothing fancy, excited about their new life as husband and wife.

A whole lot of faith and love for each other, a little bit of money...shake it up....and you have Buck and Kim...happily ever after! Congratulations to my son and his new bride!

I promise to follow up this blog with pics when I get to them. For now, I wanted to toast my family for coming together and working so hard to pull it all together and make it a successful, fun few hours to honor the joy of new beginnings. I am blessed, I love my family!

  1. Congratulations to your son and daughter-in-law! May all the bumps along the way through life be small.

  2. Congratulations to your family! You have a new daughter! Look forward to seeing pictures.

  3. Congrats to the new couple and the adventures that are ahead for them! Congrats to YOU and the rest of the family that helped create the memorable event. So glad that you all had a great time (wind and all mishaps), because you're right, something WILL go wrong - but it's the smiles and laughter about those things "gone wrong" that are also a part of the memory to cherish forever after! =)

  4. Great wedding and we may not have known where the cake topper was but weall know where the cake topper ended up!!

I love, love, love to read your comments! Thank you for taking the time to let me know you were here!
